Today’s selection is from Surah 26, Ash-Shu‘arã or the Poets, verses 52-68. These verses conclude this Surah’s telling of Prophet Moses’ and his battle against the Pharaoh of Egypt. It talks of the deliverance of the Children of Israel and the destruction of the Pharaoh and his chiefs.

Today’s selection is from Surah 26, Ash-Shu‘arã or the Poets, verses 34-51. These verses continue the story of Prophet Moses’ encounter with Pharaoh wherein the latter took Moses’ miracles as magic and summoned his magicians. However, the magicians all converted upon seeing Prophet Moses’ miracles.

This selection speaks of the dedication of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to the guidance of mankind. Then it discusses the assignment of Prophet Moses as a Messenger and his dialogue with the Pharaoh of Egypt as well as Moses’ miracles.

These verses talk about leading the oppressed and so begin the story of Prophet Musa (Moses), including Pharaoh’s plot to kill the sons of the Israelites, and Prophet Moses’ youth and how he escaped retribution after killing a man.

Today’s 17 Verses episode is from Surah 27, An-Naml or the Ants, verses 1-14. These verses proclaim the Qur’an as a guide and bearing good news for the Believers. Next is told the story of Prophet Moses’ selection as a Messenger of God and the nine signs which he showed to the Pharaoh of Egypt.
