This Surah serves up a series of graphic images portraying the break-up of the world and the enforcement of personal responsibility for each soul. This is followed by a passage showing how the Qur’anic revelation is true and revealed through the Angel Gabriel. Revelation is given for man’s spiritual guidance.

Surah 79 (An-Nazi‘ãt), Verses 1-26 (Y6)

Today’s selection is from Surah 79, An-Nazi‘ãt or Those Who Tear Out, verses 1-26. These verses talk of the end times when the righteous and the wicked will face the ultimate judgment of God. Plus, a lesson about arrogance from the time of Moses and the Pharaoh of Egypt.

Tafseer for this selection draws the conclusion in verse six which is setup by the first five verses of the selection.
