These verses tell of how the heavens might have broken those who elevate Allah’s creatures to His rank if the Angels had not begged for forgiveness of the residents of Earth. Furthermore, Islam is the same Deen or Way of Life which was embraced by Prophets Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. There was all ordered to establish the worship of God and not to create divisions or sects.

Today’s selection is from Surah 7, Al-A’râf or the Heights, Verses 54-72. These verses direct the believers to pray to God with fear and with hope. Next is Prophet Noah’s address to his people and their disbelief in response and how that was their downfall. Lastly, Prophet Hüd’s appeal to his people and their reaction and how it led to their fate.

Today’s selection is from Surah 40, which goes by two names, Ghãfir which means Forgiver or Al-Mu’min or the Believer, verses 21-37. These verses claim that those who denied the Prophets and God’s revelations were all destroyed, case in point, the Pharaoh of Egypt and his leaders, Hamãn and Qarün. The Pharaoh intended to kill Prophet Moses but even one of his relatives gave a speech in favor of the Prophet.

Today’s selection is the entirety of Surah 66, At-Tahrïm or the Prohibition, verses 1-12. The topics covered in this Surah are: do not make something lawful which Allah has made unlawful. The wives of the Prophet (pbuh) are admonished regarding their behavior with him. Believers are commanded to turn to Allah in repentance. And lastly, the example of the wives of Noah and Lot who will go to Hell while the wives of the Pharaoh of Egypt and Maryam, mother of Prophet Jesus, will go to Paradise.
