Today’s selection is from Surah 29, Al-‘Ankabüt or the Spiders, verses 1-13. These verses assert that Allah tests the believers to see who is truthful and who is a liar. Be kind to your parents but do not obey them if they commit shirk (or associating others with Allah). Lastly, those who claim to be able to alleviate our burdens are liars.

Today’s selection is from Surah 31, Luqmân, verses 20-34. These verses discuss the danger of blindly following our forefathers, the inexhaustible nature of Allah’s guidance and how even parents won’t be able to intervene on our behalfs on the Day of Judgment.

Today’s selection is from Surah 46, Al-Ahqãf or the Winding Sand-Tracts, Verses 1-20. These verse discuss creation as a manifestation of truth, which no diety but Allah can confirm. The Qur’an is the word of God, not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and conforms with the revelations given to Prophet Moses. Lastly, we are enjoined to treat our parents with kindness lest we be rebuked by Allah.
