Summary

Today’s selection concludes Surah 41, Fussilât (or Expounded), verses 33-54. This selection starts by praising those who call others towards God, do good deeds and declares their submission to Allah. Next are some examples of Allah’s signs. Lastly, nothing has been revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which was not said to prior Messengers and it is affirmed that the holy book given to Prophet Moses (pbuh) (the Torah) was similar to the Qur’an.

Surah 41 (Fussilât), Verses 19-32 (Y7)

Summary

Today’s selection is from Surah 41, Fussilât (or Expounded), verses 19-32. These verses details the proceedings of the Day of Judgment when people’s own body parts (ears, eyes, etc) will bear witness against them for their misdeeds. These people who do not heed the Qur’an will be punished while those who affirm their fidelity to Allah will be assigned angels for their protection.

Surah 41 (Fussilât), Verses 1-18 (Y7)

Summary

Today’s selection is from Surah 41, Fussilât (or Expounded), verses 1-18. These verses show that the Qur’an is the giver of good news and warns those who do not believe in the hereafter and do not pay charity. It goes into detail on the story of the creation of the earth, mountains, seasons, sky and the heavens. Lastly, there is a warning to the disbelievers in the examples of the ‘Ad and the Thamud who were punished for their arrogance and defiance towards God.
