Summary

Today’s selection concludes Surah 23, Al-Mu’minun or the Believers, verses 93-118. In these verses, we are counseled to repel evil with good by seeking refuge with God against Shaitan’s temptations. Those who don’t follow this advice will wish they could have a do-over but it will be too late on the Day of Judgment at which point this life will feel like it was less than one day and the unbelievers will never attain salvation.

These verses recount how God sent Prophet Noah to guide his people and then drowned all the disbelievers in the great flood. Afterward, God sent Prophet Hüd whose people were destroyed by a mighty blast after calling him an impostor. After Hüd, God sent Prophet Moses to minister to the Pharaoh of Egypt and his chiefs.
